How much hotter has your state gotten?
The NOAA has updated their definition of what “normal temperatures” are for each state in the nation. Check out how the average temps have changed in your state over the past few decades.
Take Minnesota and Wisconsin, for instance. Their annual minimum temperature is up almost a whole degree. While declaring these the new “normal” might make it easier for some people to forget how bad it has gotten in some areas, maps like these are the simplest way to remind them.
The proof is in the (melting) pudding.
